2003, Château Lamothe-Cissac, Haut-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux, France
2003 was a very hot summer giving very ripe fruit. This has deep dark blackcurrant a touch of savoury with ripe, rounded tannins. Great complexity from the 6 years it has had to age. Perfect Sunday lunch red.

This Montepuliciano is a great-value alternative to Claret (red Bordeaux). It has similar fruit characteristics, balance, lushness and structure. It is slightly less complex but still very good.
